01-02-03 A travel day between Jackson Hole and Steamboat Ski Area. It took almost 8 hours because of the dreaded glazy snow pack on the roads. Dark sunglasses required.

01-03-03 The group, first run at Steamboat. If it's busy- go up the Gondola, ski Heavenly Daze to Thunderhead Express Quad and then ski Vagabond. Thunderhead rarely gets busy. Ski Heavenly Daze late in the day again from the Gondola, everybody's tired and coming down the hill not going up, so the Gondola is empty. For lunch hit the mid-mountain lodge- Thunderhead (at the top of the Gondola), best pizza in town (3rd floor). For dinner go to Bomerangs in the town of Steamboat, cook your own steak on the inside grille.

01-03-03 Jen navigating Storm Peak. Excellent skiing off the backside too, Morningside Park. Ski this early too, unless you like bumps.

01-03-03 The panty tree. Make your contribution. It's located in the big dip in the Stork Peak chair. It's been a pretty lively "nitelife" year so far at Steamboat for 2003 judging from the amount of under-garments on the tree.

01-03-03 Steamboat= trees and bumps (Jackson Hole= steeps and drops). Ryan and Ed's favorites are Shadows and Closet. Best when skiied during a storm. We had to make do since the last storm was New Years Day, a 20 incher. The lines were still good, but the snow had settled some, even in two days.

01-03-03 A mini Tucker SnoCat. Parked in front of the Ski Haus sport shop, the best Alpine, Nordic, Tele and Randonee ski shop in Steamboat.
